Someone said to me recently that it was no longer pc to refer to something
as being ‘rad’?
…Apparently its too main stream?
I have never been one to follow trends but I did think it was a slightly
bizarre comment.
All things rad aside welcome to fashion iiinside soon to be a collection
of my thoughts, musings and ramblings on all things fashion and style.

A Street & Studio to Juergen Teller to Marc Jacobs to BryanBoy
rambling
A common theme for me is seeing things advertised on the underground
and thinking ‘ I really must go to that’ and then forgetting
about it until I see it again. Maybe I need to invest in a dictaphone
so I could do the little ‘note to self…must go see the
Street & Studio exhibit at the Tate…’
www.tate.org.uk/modern/exhibitions/streetandstudio/
But last night I finally did remember to go so with help from my boyf
who I love for having a TATE membership off we went…
I was most interested to go and check this exhibit out as it features
some of Juergen Tellers work who I am really into at the moment because
of the whole Marc Jacobs/Victoria B collaboration (which I’ll
talk about shortly) but also because I really just truly love street
style. I was first inspired by the book FRUITs I bought years ago
and am an avid facehunter regular.
The exhibit looks at street style from its beginnings and starts with
some of the first street photographs ever taken in the 1800s through
to street photography of today. Although I went with the intent to
look at Tellers work my favourite piece in the end was by Rineke Dijkstra
called the Buzz Club. It was a video piece where she had set up an
improvised studio in the Buzz Club Liverpool and it shows various
people dancing, smoking, gurning looking a bit like twats basically!
There is some good footage on you tube (see below).
if you are interested
its also a nice reminder as to how ‘dowdy’ 90s fashion
could be . . im lovin this matching tracksuit combo.
But
back to the Juergen/Marc/Posh collaboration… I am
sure you have all already seen the campaign images as they
have been bandied about on numerous fashion blogs. But something
that really did make me smile the other day was Bryan Boys
‘homage to Marc’ apparently Jacobs is quite
a fan of Bryan Boy…and now so am I, his blog www.bryanboy.com/bryanboy_le_superstar_fab/
is FIERCE as they say.
Here
are some great street style blogs for all you fashion hungry
